Libertarian Animal

The American Energy Crisis will come and go over the next decade or 2.  I will continue to post once or twice per week limiting my commentary to the markets and energy.

I have established a new Blog - Libertarian Animal - for purely political commentary so that I may freely disparage and strip the bark off of both the Left and the Right in an atmosphere unfettered by any other agenda, and to try and provide a distinctly LIBERTARIAN slant in the analysis of today's events.

Feel free to join me.

Here's a thought for your new blog: outline what the responsibilities of Libertarian government would be. I often hear Libertarian say that such and such (e.g. FDA, DEA, EPA, FAA, etc) should not be something the Federal government be involved in. Then, when pressed on the subject, the Libertarian says the states would be responsible for it.

While the younger people might be willing to listen to Ron Paul, the country's most famous libertarian, demographics killed the Republican party, and it will ensure Libertarianism never gets off the ground in the U.S. The old folks want their government benefits, even in inflated dollars. Stick with energy. The news is bound to get more interesting than it has been for the last year. :)

Bureaucrat:

What assures that Libertarianism never gets off the ground is MONEY. Libertarians cannot payoff their supporters.

Mockum:

I am a supporter of the State's rights. Government MUST, and it will, become more local.

Symantics is often an issue. American Libertarianism is NOT anarchism. If you want to hear what I have to say, read my blog. If you have something worthwhile to contribute, by all means, I will post it.

Shish, add a sports section and you could have a weekly paper.

On an aside note I just drove thru our breadbasket north west Oklahoma, and western Kansas on the way to Yellowstone then through Nebraska on the way back and corn is king. I have no ideal what the normal planting oc corn in Nebraska is but in Oklahoma and Kansas it is way up apparently at the expense of wheat and milo. N.b. some of that corn will be cattle food so it won’t all end up as gasohol.

Great news for me. I'm a huge fan of your market and energy analysis but politics leave me twitchy. I am simply allergic to politics although I recognize it as a necessary evil. I have a BA in Political Science (another great oxymoron) so I am not totally ignorant of its importance but in the end I chose technology and business as my path of professional life and that became my primary interest. Anyway, I think that separating the topics would be great and may (can I hope?) send bureaucrat to the other blog so I don't have to read his crap anymore. Actually I don't read his stuff anymore anyway but just seeing his moniker is upsetting enough.

Best to you in your new endeavor. Don't spread yourself too thin though. Have fun and play with the kids once in a while.

Thanks! I greatly respect and appreciate your energy and trader voice, the libertarian one less so.
I'll come over for a visit to the new site occasionally and cause some trouble. I know you don't just want to preach to the choir...Good luck with it!
