Politics Most Unusual

So far, the Sarah Palin pick by Sen. John McCain has not had the desired effect.  If Palin does not draw women to the GOP for the 2008 presidential election, and McCain loses, it would appear that the ONLY issue for women is abortion.  I find this surprising, but then again I was surprised that black women would support Obama over Hillary Clinton by 95%, rather than the something closer to 50/50

Since women make up more than half the population and voters in the U.S., and their ONLY issue is proved to be abortion, the GOP has some real, real problems - like actually existing.

The Democrats have a conundrum as well.  If Obama wins, white men might not need apply for the Democratic presidential nomination.  If every black man that runs automatically starts out with 20%+ of registered Democrats that are black, he is going to be awfully hard to beat.  Believe me, Joe Biden, liberal Democrat, would become a fire breathing conservative Republican in the blink of an eye - if it meant he would get to set behind the desk in the Oval Office.  What these guys REALLY want is to be called Mr. President.  Each and everyone of them would compromise any and all of their beliefs to fulfill that ambition.

Accordingly, don't look for a rational political response to the coming Oil import shortages looming for the U.S.  The parties in power are going to be too involved in their own survival to focus on your survival.

Yours for a better world,

Wake Up!

The donkey and elephant hand puppets are just a diversion to get everyone looking the wrong way.

Remember the golden rule: the ones with the gold make the rules.

The rule-makers' response to oil import shortages will be policemen in full riot gear. The indebted masses will be indentured servants, and anyone who resists will be 'detained'.

And don't forget God will come down and cause great floods and bad TV reception and turn gold into lead and many jawbones into asses.

Can we have a real discussion here without all the "gummit comin' to get ya!" bullshit. I work for the government, and frankly, some of you people just like scaring yourselves. You aren't worth the time nor energy to enslave, tho I bet some of you get orgasmic at just the thought of it. :)

I work for the fedgov myself, and Anon 8:25pm has it more correct than you know.

Another scaremonger ...

Since you work for the government, how do you feel about the fact that the US government distributed crack cocaine in L.A. in the 1990s? [Google Gary Webb Dark Alliance]

Since you work for the government, how do you feel about the fact that the US government has tested LSD and nuclear radiation on US government personnel without their knowledge or consent?

Since you work for the government, how do you feel about the fact that the Bush NSA spied on US citizens illegally for years?

The US government has been waging a counter-insurgency against the US population for a long time. Just because you choose to ignore it does not make it go away.

When resources are scarce, the military industrial complex will take first crack at what is available, and there may not be much left over.

It is much more comfortable to debate running mate choices, but it is more productive to educate yourself about what happened in the past so you can prepare for your future.

Don't forget it was Ronald Reagan's NSC that smuggled cocaine for arms for hostages during the 1980s all the time saying "We Don't Negotiate with Terrorists!"

Olly North and John Poindexter were caught red handed, but to avoid jail time, George H.W. Bush pardoned Caspar Weinberger, Elliott Abrams, Robert McFarlane, Duane Clarridge, Alan Fiers, and Clair George, (the last four were employees of the CIA) on Christmas eve.

Clearly the anonymous government worker who feels people are not worth the trouble works at FEMA and 'helped' out with Katrina and Rita.

Aww, and would you all please state specifically how all this government criminality has had any effect on your lives? I'll answer that for you. It has had NONE, because all of it, even if it were true, means so little that I'd have more fun trying to find out Palin's shoe size. Most of you are senior citizens with nothing better to do, yet you cash every single social security check, you complain about everything cause you feel it is your "patriotic duty," and your overwhelming fears of LSD and Caspar Weinberger (dead, I think) are all you have to keep yourselves warm at night. If anything is really bothering you, something that didn't happen in rags like the National Enquirer, please give me some real details -- present day. I will investigate them for you. I have snopes.com. :) In the meantime, we oughta consider this deflation thing ....

Well said anon@4:22 PM. Personally if I wanted TPTB based conspiracy theories I'd visit blackhelicopters.com. Deflation and resource depletion are far more worthy topics.

And yet you fail to see the connection between those two. Short sighted indeed.

Besides, it's not deflation, it's inflation. Go read ITulip.com, Robert Reich, Theautomaticearth, or a host of others for details. The same assets Mike (Mish) Shedlock keeps claiming are deflating were merely hallucinatory wealth to begin with.

You need to read Shedlock more often & closely. :) We are in a deflation -- it all adds up.
