Peak Meat?

Here are a couple of Links to USDA data on meat production (Beef/Veal, Pork, Broilers).

Link 1.

Link 2.

Link 3. (Beef prices)

Link 4. 2011 (Beef production)

Population continues to rise, while meat consumption declines overall.  I should say Beef and Pork. Broiler meat production and consumption appears to continue to rise.

Any peaking in Agricultural production would likely come first in meat production (I think). It is worth keeping an eye on.

Ranchers have been slaughtering their heards for a confluence of reasons. primarily due to the drought and its knock on effects. We may be close to peak meat, it'll be tough to rebuild the heard and soon enough there won't be a reason. however, I don't think we are at peak meat per person.

God help us,
Dan

I think we are closer to peak meat per capita than peak meat... Since 2002 beef consumption has declined about 5.5%... and teh population has increased by about 11%.

Per capita consumption of broiler meat is about where it was a decade ago.

Still trying to find data on pork.
